Tom EverhartTom Everhart

Parker Jordan is proud to present Tom Everhart.

"Tom is able to play with the characters in a way that is impossible within the
confines of a comic strip. When you see his paintings and read their whim-sical
titles, it is as though Tom is letting you in on a very personal joke.

Jeanne Schulz on Tom Everhart's art from the Catalogue "Under the Influence" -Charles M. Schulz Museum

A twenty-year relationship between Tom Everhart and Charles M. Schulz and the Peanuts phenomenon are reflected in paintings and lithographs created by Tom Everhart. The Result of the collaborative relationship transcends the comic strip,
while giving homage to the artistry of his mentor.

Before being asked to render drawings of the Schulz characters for a commercial project in 1980, Everhart was a successful painter of large-format landscapes.
With an extensive background in fine art, Everhart prepared for the task by
projecting Schulz's comic strips onto a 25-foot wall in his studio for a closer examination. He was stunned to discover that, blown up larger that life,
Schulz's pen strokes closely connected to his own painting style.
His fascination with Schulz's "line" and his remarkable ability to capture it with
his own distinct interpretation impressed Schulz and launched a friendship and collaboration that continued until Schulz's death in 2000.
