About Helen Raynus
She was born in St. Petersburg, and moved to the United States with her parents at the age of 14. When she was a child in Russia, her mother used to take her to the cinema to see old Hollywood films from the 30s and 40s.
Her passion for the 30s and 40s compelled her to study fashion at Parsons School of Design, from which she graduated in 1985. In the next fifteen years, her childhood dream was achieved, when she worked as a designer for companies such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Emanuel Ungaro, and Anne Klein.
